The tin worm turns
Those of you that know Minis well will be aware of their Achilles Heel, the sub frame. Whilst having a quick check around before the MOT, I noticed that my screwdriver had disappeared into the rear sub frame and the boot floor was getting a bit Flintstones

This was the least of my worries, as on one of my little jaunts thought the countryside the head gasket blew; I changed the gasket in the correct way - taking care to tighten the bolts in the right order and to the correct toque, for it to go again. The first time I checked the head for tracks and cracks and found nothing.

Something had to be wrong, on close inspection of the block I found it had a track between 2 and 3, the engine was old and tired anyway (having the head off gave me the opportunity to look at the cylinder walls). Just changing the engine for another red block wouldn’t have done, this was the excuse I was looking for, that thing I had always wanted to do and every one said I was mad.REBIRTH
