In The Beginning….
It all starts in the late 90’s were a young service engineer is sick of driving "Mundane"o’s and 1.7 low blow turbo Astra diesels and decides to buy something fun and nippy that he can work on, always being a fan of Minis there was only one choice.
After a bit of searching I found this my 1987 Austin Mini Jet Black (originally).

As with most Minis a bit of TLC was required. Here are some photos of the restoration.

The original engine was a 998CC yellow block; the hills of Yorkshire made it very apparent it was time for an upgrade.
Into The Red.
I had an Austin Metro as my first car which began life as a 1275 auto, many a great time was had in that car I can tell you. Anyone who has driven an A series auto will tell you it is like being chauffeur driven... by an escaped mental patient! “No don’t change up now, why are we still in first, why won’t you come out of park, what the…” Could be heard on many an occasion.

So it had to go, that car was converted to a 1275cc Red block manual MG engine in a weekend :o) this became the donor for the Mini, and my baby goes to a 1275cc, a great improvement.
From there, there's no stopping me, braded hoses, chrome dashpot, chrome radiator support, RC40 exhaust, the works.
She was quick and we had some great times and then.DEATH
